The invention relates to a novel process for the stable crossflow-free supply of purified air to commercial motor-vehicle drivers. The air flowing from the windscreen at high ventilation stages represents a considerable cross-stream for the purified air from above. By means of a separate fan with a nozzle, which is directed against the air rising from the windscreen, this air is displaced from the driver's breathing area. This fan is only connected when the filter unit is switched on. <IMAGE>
