Axle arrangement for a motor vehicle with viscous vibration dampers

The control arms (10, 12) of a semi-trailing arm axle are connected by viscous vibration dampers (18, 46) to the vehicle body (20). The viscous vibration dampers have a housing (24) filled with a viscous medium, a first set of plates (36) firmly arranged therein and an axle (30), which supports a second set of plates (38), extending through the housing (24). Axle (30) and housing (24) are set in relative rotation by the semi-trailing arm movements to be damped. The viscous vibration dampers can be incorporated into the bearing (18) of the semi-trailing arms (10, 12). The freewheel arrangement of one part (66) of the plates (38) permits adjustment to the tension-compression factor of a conventional piston vibration damper. <IMAGE>
