PURPOSE:To prevent leakage between different gases within a cell by installing a gas induction passage such as a projection or groove which induces to the outside a fuel gas or oxidizing agent gas leaked from a sealed surface on the stacked surface between a gasket and a unit cell or a plate. CONSTITUTION:When a linear projection is pressed against an elastomer such as a gasket, the tip of the projection shows the highest surface pressure, but the root of the projection shows the lowest surface pressure. Gas leakage is therefore easy to be developed along the linear projection. By installing grooves 36a, 36b which do not adversely affect the strength so as to partition seal projections 26-30, leaked gases crossed over the sealed surface are gathered in grooves 36a, 36b and induced to the atmosphere. Even it gas leakage is developed, leakage between different gases is prevented. |
