摘要 PURPOSE:To identify that the metallic piece to be tested is prescribed metal only when the absolute values of the difference in specific gravity and the differences in the thickness of various parts are all within the prescribed numerical values with the prescribed metal and the metal to be tested by performing the measurement of specific gravity with a specific gravity measurement device and the simultaneously measurement of thickness with both thickness gauges combined with an ultrasonic thickness gauge and a digital thickness gauge. CONSTITUTION:A computer 11 calculates and displays specific gravity rho=-M/F by using the weight M and buoyancy F of a metallic piece measured with a specific gravity measurement device and judges whether the difference rho''=rho'-rho from the specific gravity rho' of the prescribed metal stored previously in the computer 11 is within the specified numerical value or not. A metallic piece 4 is placed on a transducer 23a in a water tank, and a rotary ring 21d of a digital thickness gauge is brought into contact with the upper part of the piece 4. The thickness TG by the digital thickness gauge and the thickness TS by an ultrasonic thickness gauge are read into the computer 11 which displays the thickness difference t=TG-TS by both measurements and judges whether the (t) is within the thickness difference (specified numerical value) stored previously in the computer 11 or not. The computer displays that the metallic piece is the prescribed metal if both of the difference rho'' in the specific gravity and the difference (t) in the thickness are within the specified numerical values.
