PURPOSE:To obtain the high sensitivity of an image comparing with a photopolymerization reaction using a photopolymerization initiator by developing a photosensitive material in the presence of a polyvalent metal salt. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material is developed in the presence of the polyvalent metal salt. Said salt is concretely exemplified by a two or tri valent salt of a metal such as barium, lead, copper, cerium, iron, cobalt and nickel, etc., and is enumerated by a salt of an inorg. acid such as chloride, sulfate, nitrate and phosphate, etc., or a salt of an org. acid such as oxalic acid, tartaric acid, acetic acid and toluenesulfonic acid. As only a little amount of said polyvalent metal salt is sufficient at the time of developing, said salt may be incorporated in the photosensitive material or in a developer. When the photosensitive material is developed with the developer, said compd. may be incorporated in the developer. The compounding amount of said compd. in the photosensitive material is about 1-10<-5>mol., preferably, about 0.1-10<-4>mol. per 1mol. of silver halide. Thus, the sensitivity of the photosensitive material is remarkably improved. |
