PURPOSE:To prevent shock when a thermal head is pressed against a platen and enable elimination of restrictions on the materials for each component member, by causing a turnable arm supporting the thermal head to be moved under control by a motor through a connecting arm, a reciprocating arm and a gear. CONSTITUTION:With a turnable arm 13 rotated counterclockwise, a guide roll 18a and a thermal head 1 are brought into contact with a platen 4 in the state of clamping an ink sheet 2 and a recording paper 3 therebetween. The arm 13 is controlled by a motor 6 through a connecting arm 12, a reciprocating arm 10 and a gear 7. Therefore, even when the arm 13 brings the head 1 into contact with the platen 4 while being energized counterclockwise by a toggle spring 16, no shock is generated on the head 1. In addition, since no cam mechanism is provided, loads exerted on each component member are small even when the head 1 is moved by a large amount, and a plastic-made gear or the like can be used, so that restrictions on the materials for the component members are eliminated. |
