<p>1. A machine for placing the seal-forming strip between the two sheets of glass of rectangular or square double-glazing, of the type including, on the one hand, a fixed frame (2) supporting a plate (3) slightly rearwardly inclined with respect to the vertical, which is intended to support the first sheet of the glass (4) during application of the strip (6) and with which are associated lateral (59) and lower (61) reference abutments enabling the sheet to be correctly positioned and, on the other hand, a distribution head (5) for the strio (6) supporting three sets of rollers including a first set of presser rollers (31) having axes (31a) parallel to the plane of the plate (3) and intended to press the strip (6) against the first sheet (4) and bearing against the free face of the strip opposite to that applied against the sheet and at least one set of rollers (33a, 33b) for laterally guiding the strip (6), having axes perpendicular to the plane of the plate (3) and intended to guide the strip (6) by bearing against its two free opposite lateral faces and in which means are provided to cause relative movement between the sheet of glass (4) and the distribution head (5) such that the distribution head (5) passes successively along the four sides of the periphery (29) of the internal face of the sheet of glass (4), characterised in that means are provided for controlling the movements of the distribution head (5) perpendicular to the plane of the plate (3), in a direction of movement away from the plate (3) when, following the relative movements of the sheet of glass (4) and the carriage (7) supporting the head (5), this latter passes at right angles to the first end (6b) of the strip (6) applied against the first sheet of glass (4) and in the opposite direction until it is returned to its position in which it applies the strip (6) against the first sheet of glass (4) immediately after the passing of this first end (6b) of the strip (6).</p> |
