PURPOSE:To see that it does not give discomfort to the user by lighting a discharge lamp at the first lighting level until an operation part is operated responding to the power application to a lighting means which can change over a discharge lamp between the first bright lighting level and the second lighting level darker than it. CONSTITUTION:A lighting means 1 is for starting up and lighting a discharge lamp by being supplied with power from the power source 2 and has a first lighting means 4 which lights the lighting condition of a discharge lamp 3 at the first lighting level being relatively bright and a second lighting means 5 which lights it at the second lighting level darker than the first lighting level. And it enables the phased change-over of the lighting level by changing over these two means 4, 5. A compulsive changing means 9 makes a light controller 7 output a changing over signal to obtain the first lighting level until an operation part 8 is operated, and thereafter can change it over to the second lighting level by the optional operation of the operation part 8. Hereby, it becomes possible to obviate giving discomfort like confusion, etc., to a user. |
