PURPOSE: To shorten the downtime required for repairing work by forming the branches of a rectifier bridge for respective phases on the secondary of each three-phase transformer of modular function groups and stacking the branches of rectifier bridge. CONSTITUTION: A thyristor module comprising a thyristor, a valve reactor and a surge arrester is constituted, in the form of a module 18, as a stage of a valve tower VT1,..., VT12. The valve tower VT1 is associated with a transformer and the through insulators 19 for secondary connection therewith are entirely arranged on the wall of chamber at a constant interval in same plane thus minimizing the connection wire between the transformer and a rectifier tower. On the other hand, control wires to individual thyristors collected into one optical waveguide cable 20 are laid to the center between both valve towers VT1,..., VT7 and the VT12 and externally to a central control electronic unit 21. A valve chamber 9 is also led to the DC side of externally disposed smoothing reactors 13, 14 through short linear wires which do not intersect the AC side. |
