PURPOSE:To obtain a substrate for storage battery which is thin and lightweight and has the electrode plate strength by using lead fibers with the specific size or less as a main body and resin as a reinforcing material. CONSTITUTION:Lead fibers 2 of 0.5mm or less are arranged in the fixed direction or at random to be entwined with each other, a current collector 3 is integrally formed, and an electrode plate shape is formed with a resin bar 4 to obtain a substrate 5 or 5'. The electrode plate can be formed according to this constitution, thus it is advantageous for the battery production. The thickness of the substrate is 1mm or less, and an outer frame is made of resin, thereby the electrode plate weight is 1/4 or less as compared with a cast lattice and 1/2 or less as compared with an expanded lattice. |
