An edge cutter comprising a cutter member and support means therefore adapted to be moved to cut along a guide such as the edge of a path, comprising means to support the cutter member on transport means, means to allow the cutter member to move laterally with respect to the direction of movement of the transport means, means to urge the cutter member to move toward the guide, and, means to allow the cutter member to caster to align with the guide. The cutter member 8 is mounted on an arm 7 pivotal about axes 4, 6 whereby the member 8 aligns with the guide e.g. a path edge. The rear of arm 7 moves horizontally as the cutter is advanced the offsetting of member 8 tending to swing it inwardly against the guide. The cutter is moved vertically by ram 14 and additionally loaded downwardly by spring 23. <IMAGE> |
