The wall or door of a strong room is reinforced by several protective layers (4, 5), with the elements (13) of the second layer (5) running at right angles to the elements (22) of the first layer (4). The layers are fastened to each other and to the wall or door (3) by bolts (6). At least in the first layer there is an inner layer (8) which consists of elastically deformable material, in which are embedded protective elements (12). The latter are in the form of long flexible steel cables or chains, which are not attached to the rigid members of the first layer and are distributed at random throughout the inner elastic layer. ADVANTAGE - Improve break-in protection, compact structure, and reduced cost.
