PURPOSE:To operate a superconducting magnet having a highly uniform magnetic field at a high current density and safely by a method wherein ring-plate-shaped heaters for quenching acceleration use divided into more than two pieces at least in a circumferential direction are installed on inner faces of both flanges via spacers and a superconducting coil is wound on a periphery of an inner drum via insulating materials. CONSTITUTION:Ring-plate-shaped spacers 7a, 7b divided into two and composed of an FRP are installed at inner faces of both flanges of a bobbin 3; furthermore, ring- plate-shaped heaters 4a, 4b for quenching acceleration use divided into two or more pieces are installed at inner faces of the spacers. A superconducting coil 6 is wound on a periphery of an inner drum 1 at the inside of the heaters 4a, 4b for quenching acceleration use via ring-plate-shaped insulating materials 8a, 8b divided into two parts. During this operation, the heaters 4a, 4b are divided into two nearly equal parts in a circumferential direction; the heaters 4a, 4b are selected and the heat is generated in such a way that a part where a normal conducting state is hard to generate can be quenched forcibly. Accordingly, because a constituent element such as a heater or the like is not situated on the side of an inner diameter of the coil, it is possible to keep the dimensional accuracy of the superconducting coil high. |
