PURPOSE:To reduce disturbance due to shock to a window part edge of a tape and to reduce a jitter component by forming a taper part reducing its lower diameter over the whole periphery on the lower end part of a tape traveling surface of a rotary drum and extruding the tape part downward from the fixed surface of a video head. CONSTITUTION:The rotary drum 9 is constituted of a tape guide surface 9 vertical to a reference face (horizontal face) and a taper guide face 9b on which a taper reducing its diameter in the axial center direction over the whole periphery is formed from the lower end part of a guide face 9a up to the lower end face 9c of the drum 9. The lower end part 9c of the tape guide face with the taper is extruded to the lower side from the head fixing face 9' by length l1 and the extruded part 9d is opposed to the upper end face 11b of the fixed drum 11. Consequently, shock to the edge part D of the window 12 of the tape 10 can be removed, disturbance to be applied to the rotary drum 9 can be reduced and the jitter can be improved.
