PURPOSE:To easily detect the location of a fault in a video processor by inserting a supervisory pattern in the input-side of the video processor, and supervising the pattern on the output-side. CONSTITUTION:Supervisory pattern insertion circuits 2a-2e insert a prescribed supervisory pattern in a digital video signal. The pattern is processed sequentially in pre-positioned signal processing circuits 3a-3e, video memories 4a-4e, conference image processing circuits 5a-5e, an image synthesis system 6, and post-positioned signal processing circuits 7a-7e. Thus processed monitor pattern is detected by detection circuits 10a-10e, 11a-11e, 12a-12e, and 13a-13e, and the presence of a fault in each part of the system is detected according to whether the detected supervisory pattern is a prescribed one or not. |
