Wind direction detector and remote indicator - has switches operated by weather-vane to light LED direction indicators

The weather-vane has a spindle with a cam at its lower end. The cam operates one or two switches, depending on its position. There are eight switches positioned at 45 deg. intervals, and aligned for wind directions of N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW. The indicator, mounted on a wall inside a building, has a circular face with 8 LEDs positioned around its circumference and labelled with the eight wind directions. A mains power supply delivers 6V d.c. to the selected LED via the switches.
