<p>The gun applies paint either (a) in the case of large-surfaced objects, by means of a pneumatic atomisation system, or (b) in the case of wire or tube constructions, by way of a rotary atomising bell provided on an adapter body. The two spray systems are combined in a single apparatus. The pneumatic-electrostatic system is suitable for painting large-sized objects, while for objects with small surfaces, instead of the cap (42) operating with air atomisation, an adaptor device (13) containing an air-drive motor 15 for a plastics rotary bell 17, is used as well as a mechanism (18-24) for delivering the paint into the bell (17). In the bell (17) spaced semi-conductor electrodes (39 or 40) are arranged on the inner surfaces of the bell, or alternatively wires are embedded in the plastics body (Figure 1) of the bell. <IMAGE></p> |
