PURPOSE: To expand the dynamic range of data when data are set corresponding to musical sound control elements by performing control by using specific arithmetic result data obtained by an arithmetic means as data for setting the musical sound control elements. CONSTITUTION: An arithmetic means 2 does not handle data set and inputted by a data setting input means 1 as linear data, but separates the data into two data parts and handles one as exponential part data 8e) and the other mantissa part data (m). Then operation m.a<e> is performed as to a specific base (a). A control means 3 performs control regarding the musical sound control elements by using the arithmetic result data obtained by the arithmetic means 2 as the data for setting the musical sound control elements. Consequently, the data itself inputted by the data setting and input means 1 is not so wide in dynamic range in the area of linear data, but can be expanded considerably through the operation of the arithmetic means 2. |
