PURPOSE:To minimize the number of sheets of invalid paper generated, by detecting the residual number of lines on a page under printing when printing is finished, and feeding the paper by an LF (line feed) code through using the number of lines in the range from the tip of a cover of a printer to a printing head. CONSTITUTION:Let lmax be the maximum number of lines on one page, lnow be the number of lines to be printed on the last page and lcnt be the number of lines in the range from the tip of a cover 23 of a printer to a printing head 21, then lmax is a constant determined by a printing paper 24 used, whereas lcnt is a constant determined by the printer, and lnow satisfies the relationship lnow <= lmax. Therefore, the number lout of LF codes necessary for feeding out the last page to the outside of the cover upon completion of printing is determined by formula (1). lout = (lmax - lnow) + lcnt ... (1) Thus, paper feeding after completion of printing can be conformed to the printer, and the number of sheets of invalid paper generated can be minimized. |
