PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out the ultrasonic processing work efficiently and at a high speed without lateral swaying by furnishing a tungsten carbide body between a tool chip made of a highly hard material and a tool basic body for ultrasonic processing at an ultrasonic processing horn side. CONSTITUTION:To a tool basic body 12 for ultrasonic processing at the ultrasonic processing horn side, a rod-form tungsten carbide body 14 is attached with a soldering material 15, and at the tip of the body 14, a powder of diamond, CBN, or the like is baked up under a superhigh temperature and a high pressure to compose a tool chip 13 which consists of a multicrystal sintered body. And a work 11 such as sapphire is ultrasonic-processed through the slurry of abrasive particles 16 placed there. In such a way, even though a breaking force is inflicted to the tool chip in the ultrasonic processing, no crack or peeling-off is generated to the tool chip, and since the tool chip does not make a top-heavy condition, a lateral swaying is hardly produced, and an ultrasonic processing can be carried out efficiently and in a high speed. |
