<p>PURPOSE:To improve the driving stability of a vehicle accompanying the steering of front wheels by forming a transmission mechanism which links front and rear wheel steering mechanisms in such a way that at the time of steering front wheels, rear wheels can be steered with a phase lag which is gradually displaced with respect to the steering of the front wheels. CONSTITUTION:Input/output shafts 28, 31 which are linked to each other by means of a torsion bar 27 and a linking sleeve 32 which also links both shafts 28, 31 are provided in a transmission mechanism C1 which transmits the rotation accompanying the steering of front wheels to a rear wheel steering mechanism. And, a large diameter part 28a which is joined by splines to the linking sleeve 32 is fixed to the rear end part of the input shaft 28 which is engaged with the rack bar 14 of a front wheel steering mechanism. Also, a large diameter part 31a which has plural grooves 31b whose width is gradually reduced from the front to the rear on its outer periphery is fixed to the front end part of the output shaft 31. And, the grooves 31b are engaged with corresponding plural projecting parts 32b formed on the inner face of the linking sleeve 32, enabling an allowable rotating displacement quantity to be gradually varied by displacing the linking sleeve 32 in the axial direction.</p> |
