LAYOUT DEVICE FOR PRINT PLATE-MAKING

PURPOSE:To put a photographic image and a plane color mesh image together and to perform a plate-making process efficiently by a computer by coloring a background part which becomes unnecessary for the layout of an image displayed on a display device. CONSTITUTION:A color table generating means 13 generates a color table wherein mesh % data on yellow, magenta, cyan, and black are made to correspond to respective colors wherein the image displayed on the display device 17 is painted. The colors displayed on the display device 17 correspond to colors displayed by an approximate color display means 13c or colors changed by a display color changing means 13d. Then a color used to paint the background part which becomes unnecessary for the layout of a final image is put in the color table and the photographic image data from which the background part is removed and color separated image data are put together. Consequently, the plate-making of a printed matter which contains both a photographic part and a plane color mesh part is prepared accurately and efficiently.
