PURPOSE:To attain superior color reproducibility and superior shelf stability of an image and to improve the shelf stability of a raw sample by incorporating a specified magenta coupler and a surfactant having at least two among a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof and a sulfuric ester in the molecule. CONSTITUTION:A magenta coupler represented by formula I and a surfactant having at least two among a carboxylic acid group or a salt thereof, a sulfonic acid group or a salt thereof and a sulfuric ester in the molecule are incorporated. In formula I, Z is a group of nonmetallic atoms required to form an N-contg. hetero ring which may have a substituent, X is H or a group which can be released by a reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and R is H or a substituent. Superior color reproducibility and superior shelf stability of an image are attained, the shelf stability of a raw sample is improved and a well-balanced color image can be obtd. with especially improved softening of the tone of the toe. |
