PURPOSE:To improve the safety at time of emergency by enabling a seat belt to be locked in an arbitrary loosened position while the seat belt to be immediately released from its lock in the time of collision by the action of a retaining roller urged by a bar spring in the locking direction of the seat belt. CONSTITUTION:When a seat belt 13, mounted to a crew, is loosened to a suitable degree, by pulling the seat belt 13, a ball 11, placed in a stationary hole 15 of a retaining roller 10 and supported onto a bar spring 9, is moved to a rotary groove 17 passing through a guide groove 16, here being rotated. Next in a suitably loosened condition, by releasing the seat belt 13 from its pulling, the ball 11 is again placed in the stationary hole 15, and the seat belt 13 is locked by placing the retaining roller 10 in a stopped condition. By tilting a weight 1 at the time of collision, a releasing plate 4 is released through a kick plate 2 and a stopper 3, and the seat belt 13 is released while wound to a winding device by moving the retaining roller 10 to the bottom. |
