PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a printing time table, by a method wherein a difference of a predetermined temperature and a measured temperature is obtained, a product of the temperature difference and a correction time corresponding to the measured temperature is added to a reference conduction time corresponding to the measured temperature, and according to the calculation result a conduction time to a thermal head is determined. CONSTITUTION:A central processing unit 1 outputs a trigger signal TRG to an MM 3, measures the pulse width of a pulse signal MO by a timer circuit 1e, and detects a present temperature of a thermal head 2. Thereafter, the central processing unit 1 detects a group number (n) to which the present temperature belongs, subtracts a minimum temperature of the group (n) from the present temperature to obtain a subtraction result DELTAT. Next, data Bn-1-Bn-3, Cn-1-Cn-3 of the group (n) are read from a reference time table TBk and a correction time table TBh in a memory 1b, and in arithmetic circuit 1a, calculations of (Bn-1)+DELTAT(Cn-1)=D1, (Bn-2)+DELTAT(Cn-2)=D2, and (Bn-3)+DELTAT (Cn-3)=D3 are carried out. In this manner, printing time data D1-D3 are obtained suitably to the present temperature of the thermal head 2. |
