PURPOSE:To lighten, miniaturize and simplify a light picking up optical system by providing a planer type converging element diffracting and deviating the optical axis of a flat laser light emitted from a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:The planer type converging element 41 converting the light emitting from the semiconductor laser having the far field pattern varying by the directions parallel and vertical to a joining face into a parallel light flux by deviating the optical axis with its diffraction is provided. In this case, the converging element 41 is provided by inclining by an angle theta1 to the optical axis of the light flux scattered in the parallel direction to the joining face of a semiconductor laser 40 and in the vertical direction to the joining face of the semiconductor laser 40 therefrom. The collimation of the flat laser light emitting from the semiconductor laser and a beam shaping treatment are performed easily and surely and the stop to a fine beam spot is thus facilitated. |
