PURPOSE:To manufacture a flywheel of a high accuracy and an excellent antivibration property by arranging a plastic deformation layer near the surface of the teeth formed integrally at the periphery of a disk-formed main body which consists of a spherical graphite cast iron with the bare casting hardness HB 170-255. CONSTITUTION:By using a spherical graphite cast iron whose bare casting hardness is HB 170-255, a main body 1a and teeth 2 are cast integrally in the decompression formation method, the vanishing pattern method, or the highly accurate casting with a shell mould, to gain a flywheel gear 1 with a fine and smooth casting surface. The casting formation consists of a pearlite structure in which a ferrite layer surrounds the spherical graphites, the number of the graphite particles by an inoculation and the like is increased remarkably near the surface of the teeth 2 making the spherical graphite particles into fine particles, a plastic deformation layer is formed, and the rolling process property is improved. In such a way, a flywheel with a high accuracy and an antiabrasion property can be manufactured in a high efficiency and a low cost. |
