PURPOSE: To finish beautifully a change part of sewing by controlling a driving means for gradually increasing or decreasing the quantity of contraction for every a prescribed number of stitches so that a current contraction quantity under sewing can become a newly commanded contraction quantity based on contraction quantity data to be commanded with the proceedings of sewing. CONSTITUTION: A worker presses a memory select switch MS1, next sets a correction component through respective contraction correct switches SWA-SWF so as to sew working cloth K by a little correcting contraction quantity data YA-YF of respective sewing areas A-F and afterwards switches a mode select switch MSS to second sewing. When a start switch 2 is pressed, based on a mode select signal MSS2 outputted from the mode select switch MSS, a control program prepares a data program from the data of a sewing program and corrected contraction quantities (±ΔA)-(±ΔF) operated based on contraction correct signals SGSWA-SGSWF outputted from the contraction correct switches SWA-SWF.
