PURPOSE:To efficiently compose a readable sentence, by a method wherein the replacement and insertion of a character code in an external storage device is carried out, and an unnecessary space is deleted. CONSTITUTION:A character string stored in a key buffer 65 is inserted in place of a character string which was previously deleted. Concretely, a character string pointed by a pointer 66 is inserted into a position pointed by a pointer 64 per character. At this time, prior to the insertion of one character the character string is shifted rightwards by the amount of one character from a position pointed by the pointer 64, whereby a space is provided. Then, the character pointed by the pointer 66 is inserted into the space. At every input of the data in the key buffer 65, the pointer 66 is shifted rightwards by the distance of one character. After the completion of inserting the data stored in the key buffer 65, the data for one line between return codes 66 is subjected to an edition processing to obtain a readable printing result; namely, the spaces between characters and between words are adjusted. |
