PURPOSE: To provide a wet tissue paper excellent in anti-bacterial power and high in safety, by impregnating a paper or non-woven cloth with aqueous solution of an inorganic or organic acid salt of chitosan or quaternary chitosan. CONSTITUTION: An inorganic or organic acid salt of chitosan or quaternary chitosan as an anti-bacterial main agent is obtained from chitin prepared by subjecting a chitin substance source such as crust of crustacea, for example crab, shrimp, or insects, to a process to removing protein and calcium, and chitosan is obtained by subjecting this chitin to a deacetylation process with a high concentration alkali at high temp., and this chitosan or a quaternary chitosan with a 10-% or more of quaternarization degree is made soluble in ice through a treatment with inorganic or organic acid, the quaternary chitosan being prepared by reacting with alkyl halide such as methyl iodide or a cationizing agent having nitrogen atoms of quaternary ammonium salt type. Together with a surfactant, aromatic agent, PH adjusting agent, and other additives, a carrier of paper or non-woven cloth is impregnated with an aqueous solution of the obtained chitosan salt or quaternary chitosan salt in a limitation as not exceeding five times as great as the dried weight of the carrier, and produced material is set in a container such as a polymer-bag or can so that the intended product of wet tissue paper is accomplished. |
