The subject of the present invention is a steering and braking assembly for vehicles propelled by jets of fluid. The steering and braking assembly for vehicles propelled by jets of fluid includes at least two devices mounted in the rectangular duct or ducts 3 and/or 3A and 3B of one or more of the fluid flow generators 1 and each provided with a grid 6 of vanes 7 fixed onto the vertical wall of the duct 3 or of the ducts 3A and 3B of the generator or generators 1 located on the outside of the vehicle. The flow-reversing devices each consist of two vertical half- hatches 8 one of which is articulated to the wall receiving the grid 6 and to the rear of the latter in the direction of flow and the other of which is articulated to the other wall of the duct 3 or 3A or 3B parallel to the first and forwards with respect to the articulation of the first half-hatch 8 and of a system for controlling the position of the half-hatches 8 in the said duct. <IMAGE>
