PURPOSE:To improve transmission efficiency, by forming a recessed section on the opposite side of a pressed contact section with a moving body of an elastic body and by enclosing a piezoelectric body to it in adhesion. CONSTITUTION:A housing of an ultrasonic motor consists of a cover body 21 and a base body 22, to which a stator 30 and a rotor 40 are provided. This stator 30 is composed of an elastic body 31, a piezoelectric body 32 and an electrode member 33, while the rotor 40 is composed of a support plate 41, a rubber vibration insulator 42 and a tabular elastic body 43. At the back (on the surface on the base body 22 side) corresponding to a ring-shaped pressure- welded section 31a of the above elastic body 31, a recessed section 31b is bored which is capable of enclosing the piezoelectric body 32 to the position and at the interval and of the size so that an elastic wave can be obtained most efficiently from the resonance frequency of the elastic body 31. The piezoelectric body 32 is stuck there and bonded with an adhesive. The telescopic motion of the piezoelectric body 32 can thus be obtained from throughout the piezoelec tric body 33, which can be efficiently transmitted to the elastic body 31 constitut ing the stator 30. |
