A load-sensing arrangement intended to be mounted in association with a rope 10, 12 in order to react to tensile load on the rope comprises a stand part 2, 4, 14 and a part 16 which is movable relative to the latter. A force-sensitive element 22 which reacts to the action of force by changing shape and/or movement and which is connected between the stand part and the movable part, and a sensor 36 is arranged to sense the force action on the force-sensitive element. The sensor 36 is of the contactless type and is mounted so as to sense and react to movement and/or a change of shape of the force-sensitive element 22 relative to the sensor.
