Compounds of the formula <CHEM> wherein R is C1 4 alkyl or C5 7 cycloalkyl; R1 is H, C1 4 alkyl, halogen, C1 3 alkoxy, NR7R8 (R7 and R8 are the same or different and are each H or C1 3 alkyl), NO2, CF3 or C1 3 alkylthio; R2 is H or OH, either R4 and R5 are independently selected from C1 10 alkyl and C5 12 cycloalkyl, or NR4R5 is a saturated heterocyclic ring having one N and 4 to 12 C atoms; R6 is H or CH3; R9 is H or C1 4 alkyl; and n is zero (in which case R2 is H) or an integer of from one to 4 (no or one R9 is alkyl); and pharmaceutically-acceptable salts (including quatrnary ammonium salts in which the NR4R5 group is additionally substituted by a C1-4 alkyl group, and associated with an anion) thereof. These compounds may have utility in the therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of cardiac arrhythmia. |
