<p>A method for obtaining metal thread consists in continuously feeding a part of a metal melt on to an additional cooling surface adjoining a main cooling surface and moving in relation to the latter so as to form on the additional cooling surface an additional metal thread, removing said additional metal thread from the additional cooling surface and receiving it. A device for implementation of the method comprises a mechanism (1) for forming the metal thread, provided with an additional closed cooling surface (4) which co-operates with its own drive (9) and a mechanism (31) for receiving the additional metal thread (32) and which is located in immediate proximity to a main closed cooling surface (2) and adjoining the latter. A feeder (15) is mounted above the adjoining zone of the additional and the main closed cooling surfaces.</p> |
