In a process for analysis of gaseous media by microwave absorption, in particular for determining gas concentrations, a microwave having at least one frequency is generated, the frequency is maintained above the absorption frequency of an anticipated gas, and the absorption intensity is integrated. A device for implementing the process comprises at least one microwave emitter (2), at least one measuring cell (11), at least one detector (19), devices for amplifying and displaying the measurement signal (62, 64, 66), and a control device (63) for the microwave emitter (2). The control device (63) continuously controls the frequency-determining voltage of the microwave emitter (2) over an adjustable range of frequencies and an integrator for integrating the measurement signals during changes of microwave frequency is connected downstream the detector. |
