<p>PURPOSE:To attain stable tape running independently of the kind of tapes by interposing plural elastic bodies freely selectably between a tip of a tension arm and a tip of an operating arm so as to vary and adjust the tape tension. CONSTITUTION:In loading a metal tape, a sub operating arm 17 and a main operating arm 15 are rocked clockwise around a pin 16 by the excitation of an electromagnetic actuator 19 via a link mechanism 18 and a main tension arm 45 is rocked clockwise by a tension of a main tensile spring 22. Thus, at the recording/reproduction of a video tape recorder, a back tension of the metal tape is detected via a tape guide 8 of the arm 5, and the tape running performance is made stable by rocking only the arm 5 counter clockwise against the tensile force of the spring 22 only when the tension is strong and rocking the arm 5 clockwise when a braking by a band brake 3 is weakened to the supply reel base 1 or the tension is weak thereby forming an optimum back tension.</p> |
