The invention relates to a machine for the treatment of mown material and to a device capable of being used in such a machine. The machine has two cylindrical bodies rotatable about horizontal axes and having outer surfaces extending essentially axially. One of the cylindrical bodies has the form of a tubular body made of an elastic material, with an inner part fastened directly on the hub of the cylindrical body, with an outer part coming into direct contact with the mown material to be treated, and with connecting parts which connect the inner part to the outer part.
