The safety screw is to serve as an alternative for all slotted countersunk screws made of a wide variety of materials. For reasons of safety, it is designed such that slipping during the setting procedure is excluded and accidents as a result of incorrect holding when tightening are avoided. A satisfactory possibility of retrieval is ensured, even in the case of screws which are set in extremely firmly. In order to avoid wear of the blade profile during the setting procedure as a result of incorrect holding of the tool, said tool should be provided, just behind the clearance for the displaceable tongue, with a short spring articulation for compensation. The safety screw is also suitable for mechanical setting with plug-in blades, but care has to be taken, however, that the machine used has a slip clutch with torque adjustment. Version 2 has, in turn, been developed as an alternative to the original version, since the screwing-in tool could prove to be too expensive for the possible manufacture to produce.
