PURPOSE:To obtain a laser light having high energy efficiency and good beam quality by providing a holding plate for introducing an exciting light to be irradiated to a section where a laser beam in a laser medium does not pass between a lamp and the medium to a section where the beam passes. CONSTITUTION:The light of a lamp 4 is reflected on reflecting mirrors 5, 6, absorbed to a laser medium 1 to excite the medium 1, and a laser output 9 is obtained along an optical axis 7 determined by a total-reflection mirror 2, a partial reflection mirror 3 and the medium 1. The light directed to a section 8 which does not contribute to a laser oscillation without passing a laser beam of the light irradiated to the medium 1 is not introduced to the section 8 due to a holding plate 10 having an oblique face 10a on the section 8, but reflected to be incident to a section effective for a laser oscillation. Thus, since the light absorbed to the section 8 is all utilized effectively for its oscillation by the oblique face of the plate 10, the energy efficiency of the laser oscillation does not drop, and the distortion of the medium due to the generation of heat can be reduced. |
