摘要 |
A fibre optic ring (LWL) transfers data responses between peripheral units and a central processor. By passage through each unit, the data address is decremented by unity. Spatially four separate peripheral devices are combined via a common input/output unit to an address group (EKM). All address groups lie in the ring, with an interrogation-controlled serial input/ output unit (SEA) of the controller. Over the ring, data are constantly exchanged between arbitrary groups. Each address includes an additional group-specific forwarding address which, upon passage through a group, is incremented by unity. The incoming data in each group is stored with the relevant forwarding address. The information not corresponding to the particular target address is transferred on from the store to the next group.
