Apparatus for the uniform distribution of plant propagules in a culture vessel, comprises blender apparatus (19) for receiving plant material and including apertured walls (23) having openings of a first size gauge for permitting plant material of less than the first size to pass therethrough, and a sieving chamber (9) enclosing the blender apparatus and including a sieving screen (15) having openings of a second size gauge smaller than the first size gauge, for permitting plant debris and liquid to drain from propagable plant material within a desired size range limited by the first and second size gauges.
