<p>A computerized storage and conveyor system facilitating the accurate and speedy retrieval of stored articles to fill relatively small orders having relatively low volumes and relatively high mix rates. The system includes a plurality of storage bins (32), a plurality of carriers (24) each having a plurality of compartments (56), and a system (22) for conveying the carriers (24) along a path by the storage bins. In response to the order information corresponding to each carrier compartment, a control system (90) controls display (36) associated with each storage bin and displays (62) associated with each carrier compartment to indicate the types and numbers of articles to be retrieved from the storage bin and placed in the carrier compartments.</p> |
