<p>An Al alloy containing essentially Si, Mn and Mg, intended for the manufacture of cans and process for obtaining it in sheet metal form. This alloy has the following composition (in weight %): the Mg and Si contents are included in the ABDCE polygon of coordinates: Mg Si A 0.1% 0.7% B 0.4% 0.7% C 0.5% 1.0% D 0.5% 1.2% E 0.1% 1.4% The process essentially comprises a double-plateau homogenisation and an intermediate tempering treatment during the final cold rolling. The mechanical characteristics obtained make it possible to envisage the reduction in the thickness of the bodies of deep-drawn cans and the use of the same alloy for the production of the can body and of the lid. <IMAGE></p> |
