PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity for writing with a semiconductor laser which oscillates in near infrared ray band by providing a recording layer containing an optical absorption substance represented by a specific general formula on a substrate to form an optical information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 containing an optical absorption substance represented by a formula I (where R1-R5 are independent hydrogen atom, halogen atom and alkyl group, and R1-R5 contain at least one or more type of halogen atom and alkyl group) is formed by means, such as depositing or solution coating, etc. on a substrate 1 made of glass, or various plastics, etc. to obtain an optical information recording medium. The thickness of the layer 2 is preferably approx. 100-2000Angstrom . For the purpose of improving the protection and the bondability of the substrate against a solvent, and of pregroup, an under layer 3 may be preferably interposed between the substrate 1 and the layer 2. |
