This roof and ceiling unit comprises a rigid structure forming the roof (1) with a lining (2) underneath and a number of recessed parts (3) around its perimeter which may be adhesively bonded underneath members of the body (C), while crosspieces forming part of the body (C) structure may be integrated with the rigid roof structure (1). This roof and ceiling unit may be pre-assembled and raised from a lower to a higher position to be attached to the body (C) of a vehicle of any kind.
