NEW MATERIAL:A compound of expressed by formulaI(R1 and R2 together form O or R1 is H and R2 is OH; R3 is H or lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:p-(4-Aminomethylbenzoyl)-phenylpropionic acid. USE:An antiulcer agent capable of exhibiting a very powerful antiulcer action in serotonin ulcer which is thought to be caused by the blood flow disorder in gastric mucous membranes and hyperfunction of gastric movement with slight side effects due to no inhibitory action on proteolytic enzymes. PROCESS:An acid addition salt or amino protected derivative of a compound expressed by formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (R4 is lower alkyl) in the presence of a condensing agent. The protecting group is removed, and hydrolysis is carried out if necessary to give the compound expressed by formula IV. The resultant compound expressed by formula IV is then reduced and converted into a compound expressed by formula V.
|
