PURPOSE: To obtain the subject hydrophilicity-imparting agent capable of imparting hydrophilicity durable against water to a polyolefin-based fiber by including sorbitan monooleate, a polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone and an alkyl phosphate compound. CONSTITUTION: This hydrophilicity-imparting agent capable of imparting a suitable hydrophilicity to a polyolefin-based fiber is obtained by compounding 50-85 wt.% sorbitan monooleate, 10-40% polyoxyalkylene-modified silicone having 50-80 wt.% polyoxyalkylene constituted of >=40 wt.% polyoxyethylene, and 5-20 wt.% alkyl phosphate-based compound. Not only the hydrophilicity durable against water is imparted, but also process passableness is manifested in the production process of the fiber and the finishing process thereof by imparting the hydrophilicity-imparting agent to the fiber. A metal salt of a alkyl phosphate or a metal salt of a polyoxyalkylene 8-18C alkyl phosphate is cited as the phosphate compound. |
