PURPOSE:To efficiently finish a tip saw into the preset cutting edge shape by providing an angle detecting means of the main direction pitch of each cutting edge of a tip saw and the first and second distance detecting means detecting the distance from the rotation center to the tip of each cutting edge and the axial direction size of each cutting edge. CONSTITUTION:To determine the position of each cutting edge of a tip saw 7, a work support bed 8 is placed at the solid line position, the rake face of the cutting edge is brought into contact with an angle detector 39 while the cutting edge of the tip saw 7 is indexed by the preset angle respectively, and the main direction pitch of each cutting edge is detected. The tip of the outer periphery of each cutting edge is brought into contact with a distance detector 48, the distance from the cutting edge tip to the rotation center of the tip saw is detected, the retreat quantity of the edge most retreated in the diameter direction is selected as a reference, and other protruded edges are ground to be retreated to the reference value. The grindstone face is unified by pressing a dressing magnet 31 to the grindstone face 4a of a grinding wheel with a servo-motor 38, but the grindstone face 4a is retreated, thus the edge is brought into contact with a detector 45 after the dressing to detect the distance between the edge and the grindstone face 4a, and the retreat quantity of the grindstone face 4a is detected. |
