PURPOSE:To facilitate recognition of the presence of an error in a display position of a vehicle, by displaying information on distance from the present position to a branch point. CONSTITUTION:When the entry of a vehicle into a route decision area JE as indicated by (i) is detected, a display of the name of place in a display area (c) is started from the moment while the present position of the vehicle is displayed by a circular mark indicated by (ii) as given in the actual locus based on locus coordinates for correction in stead of on a route of a map. The ongoing direction of a vehicle V on a road and the number of branches of an intersection ahead are displayed in a display area (b) while a relation between the route decision area JE at an intersection near the vehicle V and the position VP of the vehicle and a distance lP to the intersection are displayed in a display area (d). |
